Light Up The Dark this winter
From the winter solstice on 21st December to the spring equinox on 20th March Ewen’s Room will be leading a project across the Ardnamurchan peninsula to light up the dark.
The winter months can be dark times with short days and limited daylight. Particularly in this most challenging year when connections with family and friends are even harder due to the pandemic. Ewen’s Room is planning a series of events across this winter to try and combat the negative effects and bring the light back into the darkness.
‘Light Up The Dark’ is a community-wide event working with organisations, businesses and residents across the peninsula. Ewen’s Room will be running after dark events including craft workshops, torch-lit walks, storytelling, wildlife, astrology and nature events. We are encouraging people to light up their windows throughout January, February and March and will be running competitions and online initiatives so everyone can join in.
I thought it would be helpful today to talk about an aspect of mental health support, more specifically, peer support.
