Ewen’s Room is a registered charity, Scottish Charity no SC048248, which offers support and advice on mental health issues to anyone living in Ardnamurchan and Morvern on the West Coast of Scotland. We provide opportunity for mutual self-help and companionship at our weekly ‘Open Doors’ sessions in local villages, with tea, coffee and home baking to enjoy. These friendly get-togethers are open to anyone who is feeling anxious, lonely or depressed… or maybe just want to come along for the chat
We also deliver mental health and well-being awareness sessions to pupils of Ardnamurchan High School and local primary schools to help fulfil their curriculum requirements.
We aim to complement local professional services when appropriate within the wider community, and to raise public awareness of the particular difficulties faced by people with mental health problems.
I thought it would be helpful today to talk about an aspect of mental health support, more specifically, peer support.
